A nine year old boy from Fairfield is safe and in the custody of DHR. Prichard police found Rhashud Felix with his grandmother around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say the grandmother was taken into custody.
An Amber Alert was issued for Rhashud around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Fairfield police say his grandmother, Tonja Felix, took him from his mother's Fairfield home at gunpoint around 6:30 p.m.. The alert asked people to be on the lookout for the child, his grandmother and grandfather in a maroon Lincoln heading toward the Mobile area.
Prichard police located them on the 4000 block of Golf Way in Eight Mile. Felix was taken into custody. But based upon a recommendation from the Fairfield Police Department, she wasn't arrested.
The investigation remains on-going.
