Upgrades coming to state forensic investigations


Alabama is about to get an update in solving crimes. {}Governor Robert Bentley has awarded a $98,923 grant to upgrade equipment and provide training to improve forensic investigations in Alabama. {}The grant to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences will fund upgrades to the department's Information Technology section, the purchase of laboratory and morgue supplies and will provide for training and travel costs.The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grant from funds made available to the state by the U.S. Department of Justice. ADECA administers a wide array of programs that support law enforcement and traffic safety, workforce development, energy conservation, economic development, water resource management and recreation development.
