Veterans Day parade celebrated downtown

Across the nation Americans are paying tribute to veterans.

Here in Birmingham, a large crowd was present for the Veterans Day parade.

This is the oldest parade in the nation. The first parade was held in 1947 started by a World War II vet Raymond Weeks.

Members of each branch of the military marched through the streets of downtown Birmingham.

Hundreds of men, women and children lined the streets, saluting those who serve.
