Volunteers participate in storm relief effort in Jasper

In an effort to bring relief to Walker County residents who are still suffering damage from last week's storms, Walker County resident Kathy Bonikowski has organized a storm relief effort Friday to help.

"Somebody has got to do something," Bonikowski says. "We just want to help in any way we can."

Bonikowski tells ABC 33/40 she expects about 50 volunteers to help restore homes in Twin Lakes Mobile Home Park, Dogwood Acres Trailer Park and Airport Road Trailer Park. She was inspired to start the effort after her cousin had major damage in Jasper.

Volunteers are meeting at the Woodland Trace Church of Christ in Jasper.

Bonikowski{}has also set up a{}monetary donation campaign. Make all donations out to the Woodland Trace Church of Christ in Jasper.
