Warming stations around the area

Brutally cold air invaded Alabama Sunday night into Monday.{} Temperatures are expected to stay below freezing through Wednesday.

Many cities and counties have opened warming stations to provide shelter to those who may not have adequate heat.{} The list is below:

BIRMINGHAM - Boutwell Auditorium - open 24 hours through Wednesday morning

TUSCALOOSA - Changes nightly - Call Tuscaloosa 311 or any law enforcement agency for the location

ANNISTON - Carver Community Center - open 1pm Monday through 1pm Wednesday

WALKER COUNTY - Carbon Hill Church of God of Prophecy - open through Tuesday night,{}New Generation Ministries in Jasper - open 5pm Monday through 8am Tuesday

CHILTON COUNTY - Old Merle Norman Building - 612 2nd Ave. North in Clanton - open 6pm Monday through 9am Tuesday

SYLACAUGA - The first Baptist Church - 10 S. Broadway in Sylacauga. The shelter will be open from 5:00 PM Monday until approx. noon on Wednesday. The shelter may be accessed off of the Spring Street entrance to the CLC, the shelter is not set up for pets of any kind.

ENSLEY - Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 260 Ave C, Ensley will be opening at 6P as a warming station.{} Hours will be 6P-7A.{} Tuesday and Wednesday.
