Warming stations continue to open to keep people safe
BIRMINGHAM - AL —
There are places throughout Central Alabama for people to go to stay warm. All of the warming stations are now open and plan to keep doors open through at least Monday.
In Birmingham, Boutwell Auditorium is opening its doors through Wednesday. People are asked to consider donating items, like blankets, socks, bottled water and packaged snacks to help those staying there. Those items can be dropped off at the auditorium.People in Walker County can take shelter at the Carbon Hill Church of God of Prophecy on Widows Lane through Tuesday. New Generation Ministries in Jasper is opening Sunday and Monday nights at 5 p.m.. It's located nearLangley Pharmacy across from Cabos San Lucas. In Cullman, there's a warming station at the United Prayer Foundation through Monday.
Stations will also be available in Attalla and Gadsden.
