      Ways to prevent firework injuries

      If you're planning on shooting fireworks this Fourth of July make sure you take the proper safety precautions.

      More than half of the injuries that happen on Independence Day are the result of firecrackers, bottle rockets and sparklers.

      Injury to the eyes and hands are the most common. Mainly due to burns.

      To prevent fireworks injuries, wear protective glasses, never lean over lit fireworks.

      If you find unexploded fireworks, leave them alone.

      Of course, keep the children a good distance away from where fireworks are being lit.{}{}{}
