Weekend of fun ends in Talladega

"We've just been hanging out, grilling with the neighbors, playing some games. Its been a blast," said Anthony Navaroli. Navaroli and thousands of others attended the Aaron's 499 at the Talladega Superspeedway Sunday.{} Many of those going home after a weekend of races and fun, say they are doing so with a wide smile. "We cooked fried fish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, steaks. Everyday somebody cooked something different," said Annette Bascle. Rows of campers and RV's surrounded the speedway.{} People were grilling, cooking and enjoying the company of friends news and old. "We're having a blast," said Navaroli. "Its one of those things where you have to be here instead of watching it on tv."For police, the weekend was busy.{} Security was tight and cars were checked for dangerous and potentially hazardous materials. Security was widely visible and that's exactly what police planned. Investigators also responded to a camper fire Saturday night.{} A picture provided to ABC 33/40 from a viewer on twitter showed the camper engulfed in flames. No official word yet as to what started the fire or if anyone was injured. Aside from those incidents, fans say the weekend was more than they had hoped for. "We just love it. We just love coming."{}
