Well behaved children earn parents discount
Time was from an early age parents taught their young ones that "children are to be seen and not heard." How many times in restaurants would patrons be happy to invoke such a rule today! Too many times children are allowed to run around, shout, and cry without parents budging to try to keep them under control or to remove them from the dining area when all else fails. One restaurant in Calgary, Canada decided to reward parents who minded their children's manners. On Mother's Day, a young couple received a five dollar discount on their tab. The discount read "well behaved kids." The couple posted the receipt to Reddit and it went viral. In an email to abc news, the restaurant's owner Toshi Carino, said, "We welcome the kids and wanted to show some appreciation for kids (of course for parents!) with dining manners." In this instance, at least, it pays to teach children table manners. Perhaps other restaurants could consider a similar incentive!
