West Virginia quarterback Geno Smth throws for 656 yards, 8 touchdowns

West Virginia quarterback and Heisman Trophy hopeful Geno Smith had a field day throwing the ball against No. 25 Baylor as the Mountaineers outscored the Bears 70-63 in their first Big 12 Conference game.

Smith completed 45 passes on 51 attempts for an incredible 656 yards.{} Of the combined 19 touchdowns scored in the game by both teams, the senior from Miami, Fla. accounted for nearly half through the air with eight passing touchdowns.

West Virginia wideout Stedman Bailey was his favorite target today as he caught 13 of Smith's passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns.

Through just four games, Smith now has 1,826 yards passing and 20 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

With the performance, he is in great position to possibly become the first Heisman winner in West Virginia History.

The No. 9-ranked Mountaineers moved to 4-0 on the year, and they will travel to Austin next week to take on the No. 12 Texas Longhorns.
