Woman, 51, charged with murder in fatal shooting at Love's Truck Stop in McCalla

Anita Hill is accused of shooting and killing her son's friend at Love's Truck Stop

Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office say a 51-year-old woman shot and killed her son's friend Monday evening at a gas station off Interstate 20/59 in McCalla.

Anita Hill, who is charged with murder, allegedly shot 36-year-old Jamie Johnson around 6 p.m. outside Love's Truck Stop. Authorities arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and he was rushed to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to police, Johnson and Hill's son had been in a long-term relationship prior to the shooting.

Hill has since been released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
