Woman stabbed, 2-year-old boy shot at Tuscaloosa apartment complex

Police are investigating a shooting and stabbing Thursday afternoon at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at Forrester Gardens Apartments located on Harrison Jr. Parkway around 2 p.m., and arrived to find a woman suffering from a stab wound. They later learned a 2-year-old boy, Broderick Hardy Jr., suffered a gunshot wound to the groin area and was being transported to the hospital by his mother.

While en route to the hospital, the mother pulled over to allow an ambulance to finish transporting her son.

Both victims' injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.

Police have a male suspect in custody.
