World War II veterans honored in Fultondale, Saturday

The city of Fultondale recognized World War II veterans, Saturday, on the 72nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

American Legion Post 255 celebrated the veterans with a luncheon ceremony.

Fultondale Mayor, Jim Lowery, talked and presented a plaque to be placed on the wall next to the city's 9-11 plaque.

The veterans who attended say they remember Pearl Harbor all too well.

"It's been a long time, you forget things," World War II veteran, Gilmer Davis, said. "But, it means more to my country than it does to me. I would go back and do the same thing again if I had to."

Friday, Mayor Lowery dedicated a memorial and a flag to honor those who fought for our freedom.
