Your Health 1-22-13 Flu and exercise

This is the one time exercise enthusiasts are excused from working up a sweat.

If you got the flu, you should not be trying to get in your{}vigorous workouts.

This advice comes from the American Council on Exercise guidelines for athletes and people who exercise regularly.

It says people with flu symptoms, such as fever, extreme tiredness, muscle aches and swollen lymph glands should avoid physical exertion while sick and for two weeks after they recover.

Flu sufferers should get plenty of rest.
