Your Health 2-13-13 Exercise and your cholesterol

{}Exercise is an important weapon in controlling many diseases; however, a new study suggests the type of exercise makes a difference.

According to a study published in the scientific journal, PLOS{}one, slow and steady movements are more beneficial in improving cholesterol than intense workouts.

Researchers put 18 people on three separate exercise programs.

After each regimen, researchers checked participants' blood cholesterol levels and insulin sensitivity.

Participants who walked or stood had lower insulin sensitivity{}and cholesterol levels, than the group that did the intense cycling.
