Your Health: 4-16-13 Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The theme is : It's time... to talk about it!

Survivor advocates say, now is the time for each of us to ''speak out" and everyone do their part to end sexual violence.

Rape Response at the Crisis Center, Inc. has planned several events to bring attention to the issue.

Tonight, community leaders, sexual assault survivors and allies of survivors step forward and speak out.

The event called 'Take Back The Night' will take place at the UAB Hill University Center Alumni Auditorium at 6:30 tonight.

There will be a candlelight vigil and a march on-campus following the program.

Also, the Clothesline Project will be on display at Blazer Hall RLC.

This project utilizes T-shirts decorated by survivors, secondary survivors and allies to show the impact of this crime
