Zip line may be coming to your favorite state park

Some Alabama state parks may soon offer more than hiking, canoeing, and picnic tables. The state is seeking proposals from companies and individuals to build and operate adventure sports. These could include zip lines and canopy tours.

Ten state parks are on the list where the new attractions may be placed. Oak Mountain at Pelham, Wind Creek on Lake Martin, Lake Lurleen near Tuscaloosa and Cheaha in east Alabama are{}among the parks being considered.{}

An adventure sports operation opened in 2013 at Gulf State Park with zip lines, paddle boards and kayaks.
