2 Gadsden suspects facing drug charges
ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. —
Two Gadsden suspects are facing drug charges in Etowah County.
Agents with the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit received a tip that suspect Anthony Foster, 37, was selling heroin out of a Gadsden hotel. After getting drug warrants, agents say they spotted Foster get in a car outside the motel with another person.
Deputy Commander Phil Simms says after agents approached the car Foster locked the car door and began swallowing what is suspected to be heroin.
Foster faces charges of three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, escape and being a person forbidden to possess a pistol. Foster is being held on $60,000 bond.
When agents searched Foster's room another suspect was discovered and taken into custody. Amber Machen, 24, is charged with possession of marijuana and also charged with probation violation for a previous drug charge.
Both suspects remain in custody.
