A Taste of Southside
"A Taste of Southside" will return to Glen Iris elementary tonight. It's part of the Seafood Nutrition Partnership's campaign which aims to show people the health benefits of eating seafood.
Friday morning, the Partnership will be joined by Birmingham Mayor William Bell to announce activities connected to National Seafood Month all during October. In fact, the group not only has the support of Bell but Birmingham City Schools, the Alabama Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance and many others as well. It will be a multi-year campaign.
"A Taste of Southside" will feature seafood cooking demonstrations from Tim Hughes of Snapper Grabbers. The evening event will include music, entertainment, food vendors, a family movie and more.
