Alabama football player shot while standing outside of Tuscaloosa bar
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. —
Saturday night the Tuscaloosa Police Department requested Homicide Investigators to respond to DCH Tuscaloosa in reference to a shooting.
According to the Tuscaloosa News, the person shot was Alabama Defensive lineman Raekwon Davis.
Tuscaloosa authorities would not refer to the victim by name in their release or confirm if it was Davis who was shot, but say the victim told investigators he was standing outside of Bar 17 when he heard several gun shots and realized he had been shot in the right leg.
Investigators recovered several shell casings at the scene outside of Bar 17.
The victim was uncooperative with investigators.
The victim’s injuries were minor, and the case is pending.
Alabama Football Head Coach Nick Saban released the following statement regarding Davis's condition:
"Our concern at this time is for Raekwon and his health. While this does not appear to be a serious medical situation, Raekwon is still being evaluated"
