Ethics Commission dismisses complaint against Rebekah Caldwell Mason
MONTGOMERY, AL —
The State Ethics Commission has cleared the top aide of former Gov. Bentley, Rebekah Caldwell Mason.
State Auditor Jim Zeigler filed a complaint, alleging Mason set up a so-called "dark money group" to receive funds from donors, and spend it without accountability.
The Ethics Commission did not find evidence Mason violated the Alabama Ethics Act. Zeiglar says he is now looking into other options.
