Fairfield Police investigating death of three year left in vehicle at Miles College

Fairfield Police tell ABC 33/40 they are investigating, what they are calling the accidental death of a three year old boy on the campus of Miles College, Monday afternoon.

Fairfield Police tell ABC 33/40 they are investigating, what they are calling the accidental death of a three year old boy on the campus of Miles College, Monday afternoon.

Chief Nick Dyer with Fairfield Police says, the child was discovered inside of his grandmother's vehicle, who is an employee at Miles College, by someone on campus, who called 911.

Officers say when the fire department arrived they were able to remove the child out of the vehicle and transport him to Children's of Alabama, where he later died.

Investigators have not said if it is a hot car death but do say the child was left in a hot vehicle, for what appears to be hours before being discovered and transported to the hospital.

The Cause of death is yet to be released.
