Group cleaning up Birmingham neighborhoods hopes more people invovled
Birmingham, Ala. —
A local organization is back at it this week cleaning up trash in Birmingham. The Willing Family visited the Inglenook neighborhood Sunday to pick up trash and beautify the area. Two weeks ago they cleaned up in the Norwood community.
Group members say they have already seen a domino effect from these clean ups. People from neighborhoods that have already been cleaned up keep volunteering for new clean up events. "It gives you hope and it gives you motivation to keep doing what you're doing to understand that even though you may see things publicized negatively about different neighborhoods when you're actually in those neighborhoods you're able to see the positive things," said Corey Pettway.
Pettway hopes more people continue to volunteer for the clean up events and start to clean up in their own neighborhoods.
The Inglenook Neighborhood Association is planning their own clean up event for April
