7-year-old fatally injured in accidental shooting
The child was pronounced dead soon after getting to the hospital.
Detectives found that the child was actually 7 years old, not 8 as originally thought. They also determined that the child had been handling a gun in the bedroom of a home when it discharged and he was hit.
Detectives have determined that this was a tragic accident.
Deputies were called to the 6400 block of William Drive in Concord just after 6:00 P.M. Monday night.
It was reported than an 8-year-old child had accidentally been shot. The child was taken to the hospital with injuries that were described as critical.
