Large hydroponic marijuana operation seized by Shelby Co. investigators

Jason Patrick Center has been charged with trafficking in marijuana, and is held in the Shelby County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.

On Thursday, May 4, 2017, Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force (SCDETF) investigators responded to a community complaint of suspected drug sales in a north Shelby County neighborhood.

Investigators contacted 47 year old Jason Patrick Center, of North Shelby County, at his home on Old Tavern Road. After initial contact, investigators obtained a search warrant and discovered a large, intricate hydroponic marijuana grow operation.

Investigators seized and harvested the marijuana, and marijuana oil, then destroyed the hydroponic grow operation onsite.

The estimated street value of the marijuana and marijuana oil seized from the residence is calculated to be approximately $320,000.

Lt. Clay Hammac, commander of the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force, said, “This case is a perfect illustration of just how important the partnership with the community and law enforcement is. This case resulted from anonymous tips and community complaints. Each tip we receive is thoroughly investigated.”

Center has been charged with trafficking in marijuana, and remains in the Shelby County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
