Lineman in Cullman County airlifted to hospital after being shocked by power line
WALTER, Ala. (WBMA) —
A lineman is being treated at a Birmingham hospital Wednesday after he was shocked by a power line.
Cullman Electric Cooperative confirms a contractor was injured Tuesday afternoon while working on a maintenance job close to County Road 703 near Walter. The lineman's name has not been released but Cullman Electric Cooperative told ABC 33/40 News he worked for APL Power Services, a Chattanooga based electric company.
The lineman was airlifted to UAB Hospital where he was still being treated Wednesday.
The company's safety staff interviewed the other employees on the scene and is investigating the incident said Cullman Electric Cooperative's spokesman Brian Lacy. OSHA is expected to launch a separate investigation according to Lacy.
