In Bessemer, a "wet micro-burst," caused significant damage during storms Saturday night. Homeowners near Jonesboro Elementary School, spent the day working on repairs.

People tell ABC 33/40, the microburst didn't last long, but the damage it caused in that short time frame was severe.

"All of a sudden the wind just got extremely intense and it was so much debris and tree limbs flying around. Neighbors hollering. I didn't know what was going on," said Terry Glenn.

Glenn says he was trying to cut his grass, minutes prior to the storm.

"By the time I put my equipment up and got into the house, that's when it hit," said Glenn.

He says after the storm, he went outside to see the damage left in his neighbor's yard, before realizing he had some of his own.

"On my truck, my utility shed," said Glenn.

Glenn says they were without power for more than ten hours, but ultimately he's happy that his family did not get hurt.

"You give all the honor and glory to God. You praise God that there were no deaths. You got a lot of damage, but there were no deaths," said Glenn.

Remember to always have a plan in place for severe weather.
