Birmingham Police locate missing 4-month-old found

Birmingham Police confirm missing 4-month-old Ja'Kayla Carter has been located.


Birmingham Police are looking for a missing infant. 4-month-old Ja'Kayla Carter was last seen wearing a pink onesie with a lime green heart in the center when she was taken early this morning.

Police believe the baby was taken by her 14-year-old aunt around 3:00 a.m. Friday. The aunt, Alexis Breeding, is described as being about 5'4" tall and 120 pounds. Alexis has black hair and brown eyes.

Alexis Breeding is believed to have gone to her sister's home on 9th Court South and took Ja'Kayla. The baby's mother stats her 12-year-old sister heard a knock at the door early Friday morning let Alexis into the home. The 12-year-old stated she didn't know Alexis was in DHR custody and was not supposed to be at the residence.
