Monday morning wreck in Tuscaloosa County leaves 11-year-old dead; teen injured
SAMANTHA, Ala. —
Alabama State troopers are investigating after a single-vehicle crash that occurred around 8:05 a.m. on Monday and claimed the life of an 11-year-old and injured another.
In a release, Senior Trooper Reginal King said the child was killed when the 2004 Toyota Sequoia, in which he was a passenger, left the roadway and struck a tree.
The child was pronounced dead on the scene.
Trooper King goes on to say that the 17-year-old driver of the Toyota was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The crash occurred on North Hagler Road approximately five miles south of Samantha.
Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
