According to the MAX Transit Executive Director, the bus that hit a pedestrian had just started its route so the driver was the only person on the bus. The driver has been transported from the scene for a drug and alcohol test, which is standard protocol.

There were two men in a car on the shoulder of the interstate. The Executive Director of MAX Transit tells us the driver of the bus says she saw one man get out of the car and start walking toward the bus. The driver says she did stop the bus.

Thursday morning from the scene it was visible that the windshield of the bus was broken.

The Executive Director of MAX Transit says this is a sad day. She feels for the pedestrian and for the driver of the bus. She says after the incident the driver was very shaken up.
