Birmingham Police investigating three separate overnight homicides

Birmingham Police are conducting a homicide investigation in the 1700 block of 28th Street southwest. late Friday evening.

Birmingham Police are conducting a homicide investigation in the 1700 block of 28th Street southwest near Brookhaven Avenue, around 11:16 p.m., late Friday evening.

When officers arrived they discovered Decorian Taylor, 22, in an alleyway on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Birmingham Fire & Rescue declared Taylor deceased on scene.

Police say the victim lived not too far from where he was found. No motive or suspect information is available at this time.

Officers from the West Precinct responded to the 5400 block of Park Avenue around 11:20 p.m., Friday evening where they discovered 36-year-old Warren Whitted in a driveway of a mechanic shop, shot multiple times.

Birmingham Fire & Rescue declared Whitted deceased on scene.

Sgt. Bryan Shelton with Birmingham Police says preliminary reports indicate the victim frequented the mechanic shop to help out.

No motive or suspect information is available at this time.

South Precinct officers responded to a shooting around 1:22 a.m., early Saturday morning.

When officers arrived they discovered unknown male in a parked vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers say the victim was transported to UAB Hospital where he died.

Sgt. Shelton says the victim may have been a bystander caught in the crossfire.

Another male was inside the vehicle with the victim when officers arrived according to Sgt. Shelton and was not injured.
