Girl who went missing in Red Mountain Park found safe
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
UPDATE (11:00 a.m) Authorities were able to safely locate Janet Trejo Saturday night after the girl was found walking on a road near the park.
Sgt. Shelton said she was picked up by two males and one of their daughters, and that they attempted to take her to some place familiar, her home, school, but she was not able to properly direct them.
She did not know her moms cell number, so one of the males used Facebook to contact the girl's mother.
The pick up was arranged and police were called.
Sgt. Shelton said police believe there was no malicious intent involved in the incident.
Birmingham Police are actively searching for a missing 9 year old Hispanic girl at Red Mountain Park.
Authorities have identified the girl as Janet Trejo.
Sgt. Shelton said she last seen wearing a blue shirt, pink shorts and has long brown hair.
Authorities are not sure on where she went missing exactly in the park.
