Sex offender accused of volunteering at Blount County elementary school
BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. —
Blount County Sheriff's Office says Crystal Clowdus was arrested Wednesday when she was found to be volunteering at Oneonta Elementary School.
Clowdus, a former Susan Moore teacher, pleaded guilty to sending explicit text messages to a 15-year-old student in 2014. Clowdus was given a 10-year suspended sentence. She served six months in a county correctional facility followed by six months of house arrest.
She is charged with a SORNA violation and is being held on $15,000.
