Missing Bessemer toddler found in Alabaster, suspect charged with kidnapping and theft
BESSEMER, Ala. —
UPDATE (4:04 p.m.): Jimmy Lee Wells has been charged with first degree kidnapping and first degree theft of property. Wells will be transferred from the Bessemer City Jail to the county jail. Wells' total bond is $200,000.
UPDATE (4:54 a.m.) :
Bessemer police confirm missing 19-month-old Moriah Rudolph has been found in Alabaster. An anonymous caller notified police that she was on the porch of a nearby residence. A suspect, Jimmy Lee Wells, has been taken into custody at this time.
Alabaster Police located the stolen vehicle on the 1500 block of Windsor Court.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday night, Bessemer police responded to reports of a stolen 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo SS carrying a 19-month-old child. According to police, the mother had left her baby inside the running car.
The black and red-striped car was allegedly stolen from a gas station located at 31 19th St. South.
Bessemer police report a chase was underway for a short time.
This incident is not considered to be a carjacking or a robbery.
