Former coworker remembers Blount County teen found dead
BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. —
The Blount County Sheriff's Office continued the search for 18 year-old Christian Boyle's killer after he was found dead Christmas night.
A tip led deputies to find Boyle's body after he had disappeared nearly two weeks before.
A spokesperson for the Blount County Sheriff's Office said a preliminary investigation revealed someone might have dumped the body at the remote location in an attempt to dispose of it.
Investigators wouldn't go into detail about a potential suspect, but said they had already spoken to three persons of interest over the course of several days, noting that a fourth person could possibly be added to the list.
Boyle was first reported missing on December 12th. The entire town jumped into action and organized search parties to find him.
Leah Elswick worked with Boyle at Walmart and had signed up to help with the search effort after Christmas, but it was too late. She said she felt absolutely defeated when she heard the news but wanted to share kind words with the family.
"I cannot even begin to fathom what they're going through," Elswick said, "Every little bit of good word, or good things they hear about him [Boyle]... it's so important to me that they know as parents, that he respected him, he loved them."
A friend of the family told ABC 33/40 a candlelight vigil will be held in the teen's honor Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. at 4867 County Road 1 in Cleveland.
