Two teens, 20-year-old charged in Blount County couple's slaying
BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. —
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office confirms three more people have been arrested in connection to the slaying of a Cleveland couple.
Authorities said a 20-year-old from Fultondale has been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of corpse abuse.
A 17-year-old from Locust Fork has been charged with two counts of capital murder during a robbery and one count of capital murder. He is also charged with two counts of corpse abuse for disposing the bodies.
A 14-year-old boy is also charged with one count of capital murder.
Family of Ricardo Santiago Gonzalez and Adbertha Chavez reported the couple as missing on Saturday, Dec. 16th. Adbertha Chavez’s 17-year-old son was charged three days later with their murders. He is currently in the Blount County Jail.
The bodies were discovered in a shallow grave Jan. 3rd in a wooden area off Sims Road due to a tip.
ABC 33/40 is not reporting the names of the individuals charged in this case, as they have yet to complete the process of applying for juvenile offender status.
