The University of Alabama at Birmingham announced they will be hosting a UAB house party with Sam Hunt on September 1 as football returns to UAB the following day.

The concert is open to the public, but tickets are required for entry. The tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. on August 4. In addition to Hunt, Maren Morris, Ryan Follese and appearances from UAB Head Coach Bill Clark, the team, cheerleaders and Marching Blazers band are scheduled.

The following day UAB will take the field against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs.

Hunt was a starting quarterback at UAB in 2007, prior to becoming a county music star.

“We have great momentum, and the energy Sam Hunt brings will only add to that. He is an example of the doors UAB opens up for our graduates and student-athletes, and we are proud to have him join us for the most important weekend in the history of our program," said UAB Head Coach Bill Clark.

The concert will be held at Birmingham's Uptown Entertainment District.
