Warming stations open in Central Alabama

With very cold weather expected for north Alabama, some communities are opening warming stations. Use the list below for times and locations.

Anniston - Carver Community Center, 720 W 14th Street, Anniston
Opens Saturday December 30 at 5:00 P.M. - will remain open through at least Noon on Tuesday January 2.

Birmingham - BJCC South Hall, 1962 9th Ave N, Birmingham
Open daily 5:00 P.M. through 9:00 A.M. (will be open all day on January 1)

Tuscaloosa - Salvation Army on Greensboro Avenue

Gadsden- Salvation Army on 114 N 11th Street. will open at 8 p.m. December 30 and will remain open until extreme cold ends.

Elliott Community Center on 2829 W Meighan Blvd. will open December 31 and January 1 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

St. Clair County - Riverside storm shelter
Opens Sunday at 8:00 A.M. through Wednesday morning

Cullman - Donald E. Green Senior Center
Open Monday 3:00 P.M. to Tuesday 8:00 A.M. (could stay open longer, depending on weather)
