'We're close:' Calera mayor, police chief address Kat West investigation
CALERA, Ala. (WBMA) —
Saturday will mark a month since a Calera mother and adult model was found dead outside her home. Most questions in the death of Kathleen West remain unanswered.
Calera Mayor Jon Graham said he hopes to see an announcement in the investigation made in the next 7-10 days.
"We're close,' said Graham during a phone interview.
Graham and Police Chief Sean Lemley have declined requests to speak on camera citing the sensitive nature of the ongoing homicide investigation.
Lemley said the investigation is the most high profile case in the department's history. Six separate law enforcement agencies including state law enforcement have been helping in the case "since day one," according to Graham.
West's family, including her husband have stayed out of the public eye since her death. Requests for interviews have not been returned.
