Wrongful death lawsuit filed by family of late Fairfield fire chief

A lawyer for the Sutton family has released the following statement on behalf of the Sutton family:

The family of City of Fairfield Fire Chief Kevin Sutton, has retained Attorney Courtney French of Fuston, Petway, & French LLP to represent them in a wrongful death lawsuit according to a Complaint filed on Thursday, May 11, 2017 in the Jefferson County Circuit Court. Chief Sutton was tragically killed on April 30, 2017 when an 18-wheeler owned and operated by Peterson Industrial, Inc., was traveling southbound on I-59 in Birmingham, Alabama crossed the median into Sutton’s northbound travel lane and collided head-on into Sutton’s vehicle. Chief Sutton’s wife and their daughter were passengers in the vehicle and both suffered traumatic and permanent injuries.

In a statement on behalf of the Sutton family, Attorney Courtney French stated, “The Sutton family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the community, across the state and country for their thoughts, prayers and support during this most difficult time. The void left in our lives is incomprehensible as a result of the loss of Kevin – a wonderful husband, father and friend to many. We thank everyone for the outpouring of love, respect and honor shown to Kevin. Please continue to pray for our family, especially our daughter.”
