Auburn got runs early, and pitcher Casey Mize made sure it stood up in a 3-2 win over Tennessee on Thursday.

The Tigers Conor Davis got the scoring started with an RBI double in the first inning and Luke Jarvis added a solo home run in the second inning to give Auburn a 2-0 lead.

Damon Haecker came through with a sac fly RBI in the seventh inning to finish the Tigers scoring.

Mize picked up his sixth win of the season. He threw six shutout innings, allowing just three hits and striking out seven.

Pitcher Cole Lipscomb came in in relief and got through the seventh and eighth innings before running into trouble in the ninth. Tennessee scored twice before pitcher Andrew Mitchell came in to record the final two outs.
