Nine-time Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware has retired from the NFL, making his announcement on Twitter:

Ware, who attended Auburn High School before becoming a star at Troy, leaves as the No. 8 pass-rusher in NFL history. He has 138.5 sacks in 12 NFL seasons.

He had at least 11 sacks in every season from 2006 through 2012.
