The Samford Bulldogs are the NCAA National Team of the Week, according to the NCAA's official Twitter account:

The acknowledgement is well deserved. The Bulldogs have won 12 in a row, which is the third longest active winning streak in the nation.

Samford is doing it all--great hitting and great pitching. Former Briarwood Lion Samuel Strickland is 6-0 with a 1.35 ERA.

"I guess I just try to be a perfectionist," Strickland said. "Like last weekend, I gave up one run and it really made me mad. I try to give up as few hits and runs as I can until, I guess, I'm throwing no-hitters consistently. And that hasn't happened yet, so I won't be satisfied."

Samford (23-14, 12-3 Southern Conference) won four games last week, including an impressive 12-3 victory over 15th ranked Auburn. The Bulldogs travel to Sewell-Thomas Stadium Tuesday to Alabama. First pitch is schedule for 6:00 p.m.
