According to The Demopolis Times, the Linden, Wilcox Central high school football game was called with more than a quarter left to play after 30 players were ejected for their involvement in a massive, on-field fight.
The bench-clearing brawl broke out with over a minute left to play in the third quarter and after a long-run by Linden to the Wilcox Central 10 yard line, sparking fans of both schools to rush the field.
The players ejected have yet to be determined due to the officials calling out incorrect jersey numbers for those involved, according to the paper's report by Matt Cole.
Linden head coach Andro Williams told Cole after the game that it was "the worst encounter I have been a part of," and that he hoped his players had made the right decisions.
Linden won the game 47-8.

Note: Any player who leaves the team area onto the court or field without being ejected under National Federation rules will be subject to applicable penalties upon review by the AHSAA."
