Vestavia Hill's Patrick Nuss commits to UAB

Patrick Nuss is staying close to home for college.

The two-star prospect from Vestavia Hills committed to UAB Tuesday morning, announcing his decision on Twitter:

The 6-foot-7, 293 pound Nuss picked UAB over UTSA. He also had offers from Western Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Air Force, Austin Peay, Georgia State, Mercer and Central Arkansas.

Nuss was previously committed to Western Kentucky but decommitted last month when WKU coach Jeff Brohm left to become the head coach at Purdue.

Nuss is the third in-state prospect to commit to the Blazers on Tuesday joining Spanish Fort linebacker Thomas Johnston and Parker athlete Eugene Minter.
