Alabama practice: high praise of offense in scrimmage
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. —
Alabama held it's 10th practice of the spring on Monday and players were still buzzing coming off the scrimmage two days earlier.
Nick Saban praised Trevon Diggs play at cornerback. He's only been working at the position for three weeks but Diggs is making a case to be a starting cornerback next season.
Former Clay-Chalkville standout T.J. Simmons had seven receptions in Saturday's scrimmage, which seemed to be a strong offensive showing all-around. Tide defensive back Hootie Jones says quarterbacks Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones were a handful for the defense.
"All of them are just competitive," Jones said. "They're just consistent. Throwing it on the money. Getting their guys in great position to get the ball. The quarterbacks, they've been consistent all spring, for real."
