ESPN: Eddie Jackson has a chance to be an impact rookie
CHICAGO, Ill. —
Eddie Jackson has a chance to make an instant impact in the NFL.
The former Alabama safety was singled out by ESPN.com's "NFL Nation" reporters. The panel picked one player from the draft class of each of the 32 NFL teams and Jackson was the choice for the Chicago Bears.
He suffered a broken leg midway through last season but he's healthy and the Bears like what he can do in the return game and how he can help on the back-end of the defense.
"I'm healthy," Jackson said before last month's draft. " I'm just looking forward to next week, ready to get working. I've been out of football a long time, so I've got a lot of things to prove right now."
