Melanie Yuill joined ABC33/40 in March 2015 as a multimedia journalist.
Before coming to Alabama Melanie reported for FOX28 in South Bend, Indiana and KXLF in Butte, Montana. During her time in the Midwest and West, Melanie reported on everything from plane crashes and blizzards to moose on the loose. She's now happy to be reporting in the South and living somewhere that gets much less snow.
Melanie's favorite story she's covered is one that helped a dying man. She reported about a Grandpa who needed a new kidney and his family who spent thousands of dollars on billboards featuring his granddaughter to try and get him a kidney. A viewer saw the story and donated her kidney to the man. Melanie was there in the hospital to cover the operation.
Melanie calls the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area home but Alabama is now the ninth state she's lived in. The others include Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Maryland, Montana, and Indiana. She loves to explore her new homes so if you know a great place in Alabama she should visit or a restaurant she should try, let her know!
When she's not working Melanie loves to spend time with her husband, visit family and friends, and travel.
