Auburn's Lawson, Alabama's Hill earn freshman honors from ESPN

The future appears bright for Auburn's Carl Lawson and Alabama's Grant Hill.

Both players were named to ESPN's preseason freshman All-America team.

Lawson is a defensive end and the highest rated prospect in Auburn's 2013 signing class. He had 26.5 sacks and 36 tackles for loss last season at Alpharetta High School in Milton, Ga.

Alabama's Hill is an offensive lineman from Huntsville High School. He caught ESPN's eye last January in the Under Armour All-America game:

"The big and agile in-state OL was one of the more impressive performers at the 2013 Under Armour All-America game, and he could be called upon to help replace some of the departed talent on the O-line."

Alabama must replace three starters on it's offensive line after Barrett Jones, D.J. Fluker and Chance Warmack were selected in the NFL Draft.

Seven other SEC freshman were made ESPN's preseason All-America team: Ole Miss defensive end Robert Nkemdiche and offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil; LSU offensive lineman Ethan Pocic; Florida receiver Demarcus Robinson, cornerback Vernon Hargreaves and linebacker Daniel McMillan; and Georgia safety Tray Matthews.
