Former Tide star Taylor Dugas called up by NY Yankees

Taylor Dugas is set for his big league debut.

The former Alabama outfielder got called up by the New York Yankees and is with{}the team for Wednesday night's{}game against the Los Angeles{}Angels.

Dugas has split time between Trenton (AA) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AAA) this season, hitting .198 in 54 total games. He has a career .281 average in four minor league seasons.

The Yankees called up Dugas after outfielder Carlos Beltran suffered a rib injury in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Angels.

Dugas earned All-SEC honors in each of his four seasons at Alabama. He's in the top ten in program history in singles, doubles and triples.
